The Ukrainian flag is half aqua blue and marigold yellow which students at the local university, where we are teaching English this month, tell us represents the sky and fields. Ironically, this is one of the very first things I noticed about the Ukraine countryside.

Blue and yellow make green, therefore green reminds me of the beauty that is the people and country of Ukraine.
